FAQ

Questions shop owners ask us

Straight answers, the same way the service is run. Anything else on your mind, write to us.

Will my customers know it's an AI?

Yes — by design. The agent introduces itself as your shop's AI assistant at the start of every call, and if a caller asks directly, it answers honestly. In our experience, customers care far more about getting a correct answer at 8 p.m. than about who — or what — gives it.

Do I keep my shop's phone number?

Yes. Your published number stays yours. It forwards to the agent when you can't answer — after hours, when your line is busy, or when a call rings unanswered. Coverage is staged, so you decide how much the agent takes and when.

Can it really check my stock?

Yes. We connect the agent to your store's live inventory, so stock questions get real answers mid-call. It also phrases them honestly: what you have on the shelf is described differently from what you can order in, because those are different promises.

What happens when it doesn't know the answer?

It never guesses. It tells the caller plainly, takes a complete message — name, number, and exactly what they need — and delivers it to you right away, with a promised callback window for the caller. A captured lead beats a confident wrong answer every time.

Can it take orders or payments?

It never completes a sale and never takes a card number by voice — calls are recorded, so card details stay out of them entirely. If a deposit or invoice payment is needed, the agent sends the caller a secure payment link instead.

Can it book appointments?

It captures appointment and quote requests with all the details — who, what, when they'd like, and how to reach them — and delivers them to you complete, ready to confirm. It doesn't book anything into your calendar on its own or promise a time you haven't approved.

What does a "warm handoff" actually mean?

When a caller needs you, the agent first speaks to you privately: who's calling, what they need, what's already been checked. Then it introduces the caller to you by name and topic and steps out. If you can't take the call, the agent returns to the caller with a confirmed callback number and a promised callback window. There are no cold transfers, ever.

What about texts?

On the Pro plan, customers who text your number get answers from the same knowledge base. Texting is conversational — replies to customers who reach out first — and it's registered properly for your business. We never send promotional text blasts, and for regulated trades we confirm the rules in writing before the texting side goes live.

What kinds of shops is this for?

We built it first for gun shops and FFL/SOT dealers, where stock questions and transfer rules make phone coverage genuinely hard. It fits any small shop whose customers call before they visit — retailers with a catalog to check, and counter-and-trades businesses that run on appointments and quotes.

What do I have to do to get started?

Less than you'd think: a short fact sheet (about 15 minutes), one interview call (about 45 minutes), approving your knowledge base, and five test calls before go-live. There's no software to install and no dashboard to learn — we build it, run it, and report to you monthly.

How fast can we go live?

About ten days from the interview, in stages: after-hours and missed calls first, then overflow, then full first-answer coverage once the early calls run clean.

What do I see each month?

A plain-language report: calls and texts handled, questions answered, messages captured, callbacks promised, and your cost per call — plus full transcripts any time you want them. The report is the point: you should be able to see exactly what the service did for you.
